On Sunday 1 February, over 500 walkers and runners came together for the second annual World Cancer Day Fun Run and Family Walk, showing the strength and spirit of our community in Gibraltar. This year’s event marked significant growth, reflecting how deeply the cause resonates with people of all ages and abilities.

The event was led by Cancer Relief Centre Gibraltar alongside Blood Cancer UK Gibraltar Branch, Bosom Buddies, Breast Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK, Pancreatic Cancer Gibraltar, Prostate Cancer Gibraltar and RICC. Their collaboration highlighted the unity among local cancer charities and the power of coming together to support people affected by cancer.

Throughout the morning, the atmosphere was filled with encouragement, solidarity, compassion and celebration. Participants shared heartfelt moments, supported loved ones and friends, and moved forward together, step by step.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, local businesses and volunteers who made the event possible, including Entain Gibraltar, Gibmaroc Ltd, Saccone and Speed, Costa Coffee Casemates, the Cadets and St John Ambulance Gibraltar.

A special thank you also to DJ Nihal and Puro Fuego Zumba for the warm up and entertainment. Above all, we thank everyone who ran, walked or cheered from the sidelines, helping to make World Cancer Day 2025 truly live up to its theme, “United by Unique”.
