We are very pleased to introduce our newest service – Dramatherapy.
This service will offer a great benefit to our service users, particularly to children who are facing challenges due to cancer. It is not, however, limited to children with many adults benefitting from this form of therapy. Dramatherapy has been developed over time and it is for everyone and all ages.
This service will be run by Dramatherapist specialist – Nyree Robinson whi has over 30 years experience working with children and adults with complex needs and is an International member and part of the sub-committee for The British Association of Dramatherapists and HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council) UK and GMBR (Gibraltar Medical Board Registration) registered and insured.
What is Dramatherapy?
Dramatherapy uses a range of creative tools to help self-expression supporting you to process challenging issues or emotional feelings. These can include, objects, puppets, art materials, movement, props, costumes etc.
No experience is needed in drama or any art form whatsoever! It is not a drama lesson in any way.
Sessions may feel similar to talking therapy, but instead you will be invited to engage in creative ways of working to encourage expression and positive change.
Your therapist will always work collaboratively with you and at your pace.
Your needs are always at the centre of every session.
Sessions usually take place at the Centre, unless otherwise indicated.
Sessions are available for adults and children and can be provided 1-2-1, in groups or family units.
