On the 27th of September, Cancer Relief Gibraltar hosted its biggest and most successful Coffee Morning to date, raising an incredible £12,000. Held at the scenic Calpe Rowing Club, the event drew a diverse crowd of community members eager to enjoy coffee, treats, and great conversation – all for an important cause. From 10 AM to 2 PM, the club buzzed with energy as guests gathered to show their support for those affected by cancer in Gibraltar. More than just raising funds, it was about bringing people together. Attendees had the chance to chat, share stories, and celebrate the incredible work Cancer Relief does. Whether it was meeting new people or reconnecting with old friends, the event created a sense of unity and community spirit that truly embodied the essence of giving back.

Our Coffee Morning has long been an annual tradition, offering a chance for people to not only enjoy a relaxing break but to make a tangible difference in their community. This year, the event exceeded all expectations, bringing together new faces and familiar friends in a testament to the strength of the local community, with attendees from all walks of life joining forces for a common cause. Manager Rowena Wallace noted, “The response from the community has been overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in this year’s Coffee Morning, your support makes a meaningful difference to the lives of those in our care.”

The success of the Coffee Morning wouldn’t have been possible without the backing of local sponsors, whose contributions helped ensure the event was a triumph. Cancer Relief extends heartfelt thanks to Calpe Rowing Club, Eroski, Gibmaroc, Restsso, and Saccone & Speed for their invaluable support.

Calpe Rowing Club was not, however, the only place you could support our Coffee Morning, Thanks to the participation of local businesses, including Sacarello’s, Risso’s Daily, Europa Point Café, Queens Picturehouse, and Piece of Cake Bakery, essential donations rolled in from across Gibraltar, going a long way to helping Cancer Relief continue its vital work.

For anyone who couldn’t make it to this year’s Coffee Morning, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Cancer Relief encourages individuals and businesses to host their own events, whether it’s a small gathering at home or a large-scale event, every effort counts in directly supporting those affected by cancer in Gibraltar.

The funds raised during this year’s Coffee Morning will go directly towards supporting Cancer Relief’s essential services. These include clinical support, emotional support, practical help, and therapies that make a real difference in the lives of local cancer patients and their families.

As the success of this year’s Coffee Morning shows, the community’s generosity and compassion know no bounds. We looks forward to continuing this wonderful tradition, and with the continued support of the community, are confident that next year’s event will be even bigger and better.
